A ground-breaking new work designed to challenge audience/artist proximity – practically, metaphorically, emotionally, and psychologically, A Glimmer of Hope or Skin or Light is a three-month (March-May 2010) performance art piece created by Lingo Dance and presented in collaboration with ACT Theatre and Seattle Art Museum.
This was dance awesome in so many ways. Bringing people, especially young people, into dance (as audience and dancer) by going out into the world where they live and move and personally inviting them in will no doubt have long lasting effects for the public and the art world. The skate park was especially potent I think because it's a boy's space. Bringing a girl in there and making her feel confident and included was a powerful aspect
